The Pyidaungsu Hluttaw enacted the Animal Health and Livestock Development Law on 26^th August 2020.

According to this law, the Livestock, Breeding and Veterinary Department under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation is a competent authority responsible for issuing Veterinary Certificate for importation and exportation of animals, animal products, genetically modified organisms, animal feed, veterinary drugs.
